In the heart of the Stockholm archipelago, just a stone’s throw from Vaxholm, lies a gently swaying sauna raft—wood-fired, rustic, and open for bookings year-round.

Vaxholms Bastubåt offers an exclusive sauna experience for up to 15 guests, featuring a sauna room, relaxation area, and an outdoor deck. This floating sauna combines tranquility, scenic views, and tradition into a truly unique experience.

Transport and Logistics

The sauna boat is securely moored off Rindö, just beyond Vaxholm’s guest harbor. You’re welcome to arrive with your own boat, but the easiest and most convenient option is to book private transport through Kastellets Rederi. They offer direct boat taxi services from Vaxholm, central Stockholm, or other islands — providing fast, safe, and comfortable transport all the way to the raft.

A Sauna Experience that Elevates Every Season

Imagine the warmth of the sauna, the sound of waves against the raft, and the scent of firewood—the perfect cold dip in the sea creates contrast and brings the moment to life. Whether it’s a winter day with frost on the rocks or a mild summer evening, this is an experience you’ll remember forever.

Booking Request

The Sauna Boat accommodates up to 12 guests and costs 175 SEK per person per started hour. A minimum of two hours applies, with a minimum charge of 700 SEK. Upon arrival, the sauna will be lit* with extra firewood and sauna water available for your use. If you require transport, it can be booked directly in the form in collaboration with Kastellets Rederi. Once we receive your booking, we will send a personal email confirming your reservation and providing further information regarding any transport. Payment is made at the time of booking via Swish or invoice (invoice available for companies only). Due to allergy concerns, dogs are not permitted on the sauna boat.

Cancellation Policy

A booked sauna session can be cancelled with a 50% refund up to 10 days before your visit. For cancellations made less than 10 days before arrival, the full amount will be charged. For the cancellation to be considered valid, it must be confirmed by Vaxholms Bastubåt via SMS or email. A cancellation that has not been confirmed is considered not cancelled, and full charges apply.

* Lighting Service

We do our best to light the sauna in advance and at no extra cost (so-called lighting service). In rare cases, this may not be possible (we will notify you in such cases), and occasionally the fire may go out between bookings. Should this happen, lighting equipment is available on board.
